Recycle - Rebirth™ - Finally a place for all the discarded samples, left-over scraps and unfinished projects from previous classes and workshops. Abandon restraint: Try the ridiculous … the improbable … the impossible. Combine free-form and/or geometric shapes that you cut, tear, burn or otherwise remove from all kinds of old fabrics you haven’t found a use for: from clothing, linens, lingerie or other “sleazy” fabrics such as sheers, tulle, metallic, lamé, rayon; from discarded upholstery samples and other loosely woven fabric scraps; from UFOs. Then add embellishments from all the yarns, beads, trims, and exotic do-das you've salvaged. Transpose the old, the used, the dull, the dirty into the new, the fresh, the bright, the beautiful, symbolizing the hope implicit in the act of recycling. Join in the fun and give your junk a rebirth. Or trade and use someone else's trash to create an abstract or representational treasure. Remember: One person's trash is another's treasure.
