Workshops are available for retreats at "My Place" in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains or at "Your Place" for your Art Group or Quilt Guild. Fabric artists and quilters benefit from the knowledge of good design principles as much as painters, sculptors and others who work in the visual arts and these concepts are integrated into all Shifting Your Vision workshops. A solid understanding of the elements (space, line, shape, texture, and color) and principles (emphasis, rhythm, variety, balance and unity) of good design becomes the subconscious basis from which we SEE the world all around us, as if with new eyes. As we integrate an enhanced vision into our projects, we also bring confidence to our choices and new life to our work. Let the fabric art processes in these innovative workshops enhance your creativity and expand your "vision". In them, pieces of different fabrics and embellishments are taken "out of context" and changed, adapted, and/or arranged around a new theme or abstract design. Most often, fusible appliqué is used for project construction. You will spend most of the time playing with fabrics, designing, cutting, fusing and adding embellishments. So very little, if any, sewing is necessary, although welcomed, if you prefer.
